This plate was in use during the peacekeeping mission of the United Nations in Angola. This mission MONUA (=United Nations Observer Mission in Angola) was the fourth mission in Angola
after UNAVEM I - III and was working from July 1997 to February 1999. MONUA was established to monitor the peaceagreement between the government of Angola, which is formed by
the MPLA, and UNITA, the other big rebell organisation. The mission was terminated early because the war between the government and the UNITA was starting again and the parties did not accept UN as a mediator.
